My Week With Marilyn (not litterally)

Sorry i've been slightly absent recently, work is taking over! Just a quick post of a few pictures from the latest film "My Week With Marilyn" which is yet to be released in England, but i'm hoping to go and see it straight away with Eilish from cowsandteapots when it comes out! It looks amazing from what i've seen in the trailer, it looks so interesting and i can't wait. If you're in the US check out VixenVintage 's recent post for a chance to win a book and movie poster.

Rachael

New fancy wallpaper.

As I've recently mentioned in a previous post, I'm currently re-decorating my bedroom. I went on a trip to London yesterday and came back very tired and grumpy to see my new wallpaper was up and finished. So here it is! I took some pictures of my outfit of today too. I will do a bigger post with nicer pictures once my room is fully done and I'm happy to show it :)

I bought this floral wrap over dress for a £1 at a flea fare a few months back, I've been wearing it as a little robe type thing but its so pretty I've started wearing it out.

I never wear these Italian leather burgundy shoes, but i should, because they are beautiful!

Wallpaper - B&Q
Dress - Flea market £1
Shoes - Charity shop £4.99
Bag - Used to be my mothers

Kitty pumpkins and (zombie) Audrey Hepburn

I'm not normally a big celebrator of Halloween as i think it's more of an American thing, but this year i went all out. I dressed up as a zombie Audrey Hepburn for a party i went to and carved a kitty pumpkin and made pumpkin soup. It was so much fun!

I didn't get any pictures of me on the actual night, but i tried everything out the night before and took some pictures, i was a lot more ghostly and paler on the night (although I'm already very fair!)

This vintage fringed dress finally came to good use, picked it up from a vintage warehouse for £18 a year ago!

Kitty pumpkin that sat on our window still, the trick or treaters loved it!
(I didn't get a good enough picture where you could see it properly, it has little ears too!)

Used a recipe from one of my mums many cookery books to make some soup, it went well!

Yummy!

Rachael

My week in pictures

Trip to Derby on Tuesday for a family photo-shoot

Had a stroll around the shops, came across this cute teddy bear shop!

Recent purchases, turbie towel, seamed tights, red (ginger) hair dye
I love buying little things like these!

The view from my bedroom window one autumnal evening this week, my camera didn't do the amazing sunset justice!

My beautiful new lace up boots, I've been wearing them non-stop since I bought them!

Went on my own little trip to the college library this week to print off some work
discovered they have an amazing range of fashion books, ended up taking some Coco Chanel ones home with me!

I was practically alone aswell, perfect!
                                                                       (I love library's)

This is where i go every weekday, I love how its a listed/old building

I'm current re-decorating my bedroom, I've tested out so many paint colours but finally came to the decision of having a mint green (which actually looks aqua now its on the walls)

Like my mug?

Photoshoot with my good friend Jess this week, this is one she took!

Hope you all had a lovely week, and a spooky Halloween weekend!
Will post pictures of my Halloween outfit and possibly pumkin carving tomorrow!

What I wear to DIY stores (yes really)

So I went to the DIY store the other day to pick out some paint and flooring for my new bedroom. Exciting! I went out earlier that morning very dressed down in nothing more than a men's shirt and cropped jeans and I felt so UN-comfortable and boring, because I literally over dress for everything, so I really felt out of place! I then came home and slipped on a pretty dress and petticoat and I felt much better, got a few funny looks while browsing for paint shades, (which I've got used to) but who cares? I don't :)

I'm in love with these shoes, 4 English pounds! Mustard is becoming my new favourite colour.

Trying to look discreetly sophisticated as a man on a bike rode past my house...

Welcome to my blog!

Hello!

Welcome to vintageglamourfox. My name is Rachael and I love all things vintage and retro. I'm obsessed with the 40's and 50's and have been for a little over a year. I also have a YouTube channel..http://www.youtube.com/user/vintageglamourfox where i post tutorials for vintage hair styles, and make-up looks, outfit of the days, and much more. thanks for passing through! Lots of new posts to come, follow to see more!

Love,
Rachael X

p.s- just as a little fact about my blog name, the vintage glamour part is because I've always been obsessed with 50's vintage glamour and the fox part is based on my surname and a nickname that my friends mainly call me. So, voila! such a cheeky fact right?! xxxx
